This policy brief of the findings of joint research conducted by International Institute for Sustainable Development in collaboration with the Convention for Biological Diversity Secretariat analyses the potential contribution of voluntary sustainability standards to support biodiversity protection. The State of Sustainability Initiatives Biodiversity and Standards Review covers 14 major international standards operating in the banana, cocoa, coffee, cotton, palm oil, soy, sugar and tea sectors.
