The report analyses corporate progress toward achieving deforestation- and conversion-free commodity supply chains using disclosures collected through the Accountability Framework initiative (AFi) and CDP, with a particular focus on transparency, supply chain performance, and land-related emissions targets.
It examines 2,636 commodity-specific disclosures submitted by 1,583 companies and serves as a follow-up to the 2024 Time for Transparency report. The analysis assesses the quality and completeness of company disclosures across major commodity sectors, including timber, palm oil, soy, cattle products, rubber, cocoa, and coffee, and also evaluates companies’ adoption of land-sector emissions reduction targets.
The findings show that while a substantial number of companies disclosed progress on deforestation- and conversion-free supply chains, only a small proportion provided high-quality disclosures or reported that most of their supply chains were more than 90% deforestation- and conversion-free, with the timber sector demonstrating the strongest performance. The report also highlights limited progress in addressing land-related emissions, finding that few companies have established organisation-wide land-sector emissions reduction targets or combined robust FLAG commitments with highly deforestation-free supply chains, underscoring the need for stronger corporate action and more comprehensive reporting.
