Summary

The study maps 18 mineral sustainability initiatives by type of initiative, thematic scope, assurance process and sanctions for non-compliance. In addition, two case studies allow to explore examples of interoperability more thoroughly. Finally, thematic overlaps between the analysed initiatives suggest that it is possible and desirable to strengthen interoperability in order to increase efficiency and credibility as well as to improve the initiatives' social and environmental impact.
