Summary
This paper analyses the impact of the 2019 COP update on gender equality among RJC members compared to the 2013 COP. The RJC conducted an SDG mapping in 2020 and launched gender equality guidance materials for its 1,700+ members. External researchers assessed the 2019 COP’s impact on gender equality through surveys and interviews with 55 members. The report finds that positive trends in gender equity were observed across certified and non-certified firms, with no significant differences between 2013 and 2019 COP certifications. The article suggests enhancing the visibility of gender issues in COP documents and auditor questions. It calls for comprehensive research considering diverse contexts and geographies to address gender issues effectively.
