Summary

This COSA report examines the social, economic, environmental and social impact of Rainforest Alliance Certification. Surveys were conducted at the beginning of certification and two years later and the control groups were selected by similar factors such as farm size, agro-ecological conditions, distance to market and income levels. The report finds that RA certified farms in Cote d’Ivoire scored significantly better on indicators like yield, net income, training, community participation and soil and water conservation.
