Summary

This is Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) management response to the study 'Evaluation of the Early Impacts of the Better Cotton Initiative on Smallholder Cotton Producers in Kurnool District, India' part of ISEAL Alliance project Demonstrating and Improving Poverty Impacts (DIPI). The management response includes a general assessment of the evaluation as well as a detailed response to each recommendation included in the study. The evaluation report presented the findings of a three-year study of the early impacts of the Better Cotton Initiative on smallholder cotton producers in Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The project is being implemented by a non-governmental organisation (NGO). The study included a baseline assessment (July to September 2015), an interim monitoring (August to November 2017) and a final evaluation (August to November 2018). The study methodology employed theory-based evaluation and a Randomised Control Trial approach.
