Summary

This is a report on the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities of the Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT) during 2015-16, the results of which will feed into UEBT’s 2018-20 strategic plan, and the revision of the UEBT standard. UEBT has undertaken various M&E activities in order to advance their objectives to collect and improve the quality of M&E information, to gain insight into the impacts in Theory of Change (ToC) priority areas, and to improve measurement of impact. The report provides detail on M&E activities such as collecting information on UEBT Trading Members and their activities, assessing perceptions of the effectiveness of technical support on Ethical BioTrade practices, undertaking baseline studies for the UEBT/UTZ herbal tea programme, as well as the development of new methodologies to measure impacts that will be integrated into the UEBT M&E system.
