摘要
The study was financed and commissioned by Solidaridad and UTZ Certified and explore the effects of the Solidaridad – UTZ Certified programme on cocoa producers in Ghana between 2011 and 2014. Using data from panel survey and focus groups and mixed methods of analysis, the authors report on a variety of economic and social outcomes, such as productivity and quality, profitability and income, and, working conditions. The authors identify positive impacts on working conditions, awareness of child labour
issues and health, but highlight that Cocoa farming continues to generate low levels of income. They recommend to expand the theory of change to include other factors influencing adoption, and to explore how to offer different types of services to different types of
farmers to maximise impact.
