摘要

The aim of this study is to assess the impact of 4C verification on coffee farmers in Uganda and Vietnam. The study addresses questions on implementation of the 4C entry level standard related to farmers’ agronomic, socio-economic and environmental performance, and compares the cost of implementation to the benefits in terms of better prices received, supply increase and quality improvement for farmers. Overall, the study finds a moderate effect at best as in both countries the majority of indicators does not appear to be affected by the implementation. The authors recommend devising innovative ways to ensure that expected benefits are more consistently achieved for a majority of 4C verified
Farmers.
