摘要

This study investigated the impact of Rainforest Alliance shade tree cover requirements on water quality on coffee farms in Costa Rica. The researchers found that high shade tree cover streams were more effective at controlling non-point source pollution, with these streams showing lower turbidity and conductivity than low shade tree cover streams. Overall, the results show that shade tree cover can help manage water quality in high elevation tropical agro-ecosystems.
