Meeting sustainability goals: voluntary sustainability standards and the role of the government

This report explores the social, environmental and economic benefits of Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) and how governments can and should work with VSS in order to achieve the 2030 agenda. In a second part of the report, interviews with key stakeholders and experts are presented. The report concludes that governments should align their policies with VSS in order to achieve greater benefits and they should also facilitate multi-stakeholder partnerships.
