摘要

This study assesses the benefits and challenges of certification of two different Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified lobster fisheries. The two assessed lobster fisheries are the Western Australian rock lobster and the Mexico Baja California red rock lobster. The conditions for certification imposed to both fisheries were similar and included the understanding of target stock status, improving monitoring and reporting of bycatch and Endangered Threatened and Protected species (ETPs), improving the understanding of the potential impacts of fishing on the ecosystem.
