Summary

The US cotton industry has established industry-wide sustainability goals to guide supply chain actors who are growing and commercialising sustainable cotton. Multi-tier sustainable supply chain initiatives are difficult to execute and require collaboration, the use of metrics, verification and a commercial mechanism to make it all work. This study explores the effectiveness of key actors and the value created from participation in a sustainable cotton supply chain initiative.
